About the Role
The Estimating Assistant reports to the Chief Estimator and is a full-time in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Bid preparation.
- Maintaining reports.
- Filing of “closed” estimates.
- Purge/log/current year “Closed” estimate folders.
- Audit of estimates.
- Schedule with Estimator pre-bid walk throughs/Zoom meetings.
- Add/update sub-contractors to projects and/or templates.
- Maintain communication with bidding sub-contractors.
- Research and track potential projects to bid.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Educational Requirements – High school graduate, some college preferred.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Notary Public preferred.
- Ability to work Monday-Friday 8 hours per day with flexibility on occasion to adjust schedule for early/late bid deliveries.
Required Skills
- Strong telephone skills, ability to accurately type a minimum of 50 WPM.
- Ability to use Windows-based, personal computer; including experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet search engines.
- Ability to manage multiple interruptions and adjustments to priorities throughout the day.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals and to calmly and efficiently handle situations ranging from routine to urgent.
- Exceptional reading comprehension and interpretation of documents.
- Excellent memory and organization ability, to set priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Typical physical demands – Requires sitting, standing, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to drive company vehicle for bid deliveries within a 1-2 hour radius of office.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge and/or experience in the construction industry or real estate.
