About Us

St. Jude House is an emergency shelter that provides safety, shelter and comprehensive services to victims of domestic violence and/or sexual assault and their dependent children. St. Jude House is a 40-bed shelter that provides a homelike environment. Our services are provided to clients without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability or other status applicable by law. Our single story, ranch-style facility is accessible to differently-abled clients. Shelter and crisis intervention services are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All services are provided free of charge. Shelter services include a 45-day program (typical length of stay) providing crisis intervention, housing, daily living needs (such as bedding, towels, laundry facilities, food, toiletries, emergency clothing), support groups, legal advocacy, referrals and linkage to social service agencies and entitlement programs. Education and information about the dynamics and effects of domestic violence is also an integral part of the program. Residents live communally and share in housekeeping and cooking. The children's program, in addition to counseling and support groups, offers conflict resolution and personal safety information. Both residential and non-residential clients and their children may participate in support groups and one-on-one sessions with our staff which includes a case manager, adult services advocate, children's services advocate, legal advocate and client advisors.
